Sander Appel appointed Creative Director with LaComunidad


Amsterdam based creative digital branding agency LaComunidad has appointed Sander Appel to the position of creative director. In addition Appel will be in charge of overall creativity, and in this capacity, be part of the agency's management team. Prior to this appointment, Appel was art director with Brand New Telly, Rapp Collins and IDTV.

LaComunidad's founder Igor Beuker explains: "The recent success of winning two pitches and the growth of LaComunidad through the international WPP-network required conceptional, creative and commercial enforcement. Sander Appel, a powerhouse in the field of formats, concepting and brand interaction, will be a valuable addition to our team."

Appel will start working for LaComunidad in February. As one of his first assignments he will take stock and evaluate where further enforcements are needed. Igor Beuker comments about the effect of the credit crunch on the advertising business: "No doubt we are looking at an extremely tough year ahead of us, but I find fear to be a bad motivator. I foresee that the credit crunch will present an abundance of new opportunities for a result driven agency such as LaComunidad. Therefore I will continue to invest in technology as well as experienced personnel, in order to sustain our non-cyclic growth."
