UPC Broadband chooses LaComunidad for it's interactive communications
After an agency orientation international cable company UPC Broadband (UPC) placed it's interactive communication activities at LaComunidad. The first assignment for the Amsterdam based digital branding agency was to develop an online campaign around the Olympic Games in Beijing.
UPC's goal was to increase online awareness around HDTV (High Definition TV). To reach peak awareness UPC called upon LaComunidad, who developed the interactive campaign Watch Beijing with me!. The Olympic Games seemed to be the perfect event to create awareness around the superior image and sound quality of UPC's HDTV. Part of the concept is an online application which allows UPC to encourage new customers to watch the Olympics with their friends in HDTV quality.
On the website http://www.upcolympics.com/ people can create their own Olympic stadium and win prizes. Furthermore existing customers are challenged to act as UPC brand ambassadors. LaComunidad daughter SocialMedia8 services the viral seeding, buzz pr and social media optimization.
"To help UPC Broadband with the international interactive communications is a huge challenge. We see many possibilities to unroll several campaigns in the various European countries covered by UPC", says LaComunidad founder Igor Beuker.
